Proving You Can Do It Too: A Reader Recaps Her Trip To Spain With VaughanTown

Reader C.O. answered the call of travel and participated in the VaughanTown program. This is a two-week volunteer exchange pairing native English speakers from around the world with business professionals from Spain who want to improve their language skills.

In March 2011, I wrote the post Teach & Travel In Spain With VaughanTown and am so pleased a reader participated. I love reading about women who think expansively and take opportunities to meet new people – and yes, I’m ESPECIALLY pleased it was a sista!  C.O. very graciously sent me some photos, which I’m sharing here.

She also had this to say:

“Hi, I just wanted to let you know that there is at least one reader out there who is taking your advice to heart. I read the post about VaughanTown back in March and decided to apply.”

She went on to give a few details about how much fun she had. CHEERS to you! Thanks for the feedback as well and allowing me to publish your note.

Don’t miss out! You gotta be in it to win it! Here’s an opportunity to teach in Chile.

  1. That is so great! I'm glad you decided to do a post about this woman's experience because I somehow missed (or forgot) about the initial post you did featuring this program. I am definitely bookmarking this post for future reference.

    1. I think certain posts resonate more clearly with people. Also I publish about 175 posts per year so you won\’t remember everything. I do hope more women continue researching ways to add value to their lives using their own initiative

  2. Hello there, Faith! This is such a coincidence because I was just speaking to my brother a couple of hours ago about how interested I am in participating in the Vaughantown program. I will be applying in about a month's time and I'll let you know how that turns out.

    1. Oh that is so good to hear!! I hope more women can participate. Definitely give a report to share with us when you get back.

  3. This is just absolutely FABULOUS!!! I am thrilled to read about a reader who did indeed branch out and take a leap of faith!!!

    Thanks Faith.

    1. I'd love to be able to write nothing but stories about what women are accomplishing. This is so amazing, but totally do-able for those who apply themselves.
