All the breaks you need in life wait within your imagination.
Imagination is the workshop of your mind, capable of turning mind energy into accomplishment and wealth.
No, this is not for nursing mothers. It’s for the gawkers and puritans who can’t imagine seeing a breast used for something other than as a sexual prop for males. Not that it isn’t without merit…but one thing often leads to the other you know!
Picking up where we left off at Pt. 1 of Evaluating Men #17, the overwhelming consensus is one young woman made a critical error in who she chose to mate and marry and must make solid exit plans for her sake and that of her unborn child. Phew, the ramifications are intense!
*After I wrote this intro, the woman wrote in. I stand by what I said. Please send her love, light and wisdom. Hopefully, she makes choices that benefit her.
We all make mistakes. It’s just some can have more serious consequences. Even deadly. The HIV conversation begins now……
Read a post by a young married woman seeking advice on handling her husband and the fears regarding her pregnancy. Skip the comments (they’re idiotic), but ask yourself what red flags you immediately pick up on regarding the husband’s background.
We’ll get to the HIV conversation further into this discussion.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Something to consider for those who want to stay at the top of the innovation curve. It’s also worth noting those with programming skills are highly employable. They can live and work anywhere. There’s a shortage of women (especially ‘women of color’) in technology. Which also means these are lucrative positions.
Epiphany time! I listened to this interview with Dr. Sara Gottfried on the Wealthy Sistas radio show last night. It was an eye-opener! The conversation centered around the biological disruptions that many women face starting in their 20’s. This is a MUST listen to 45 minutes that may change your life. So many things made sense and I am left deeply comforted it’s not always personal failings that impact those of us who want to be high achievers.
HORMONAL IMBALANCES ARE NO JOKE.
Here’s a few things to consider as we continue to move into a higher plane of consciousness, raising the bar for our expectations:
Is it conceivable during an election year, where a sitting President is running for a second term to ignore a gathering at the largest Civil Rights organization in the country? Was there some nuclear bomb crisis or death in the family we weren’t aware of?
Can you think of any other MAJOR ORGANIZATION, GATHERING or GROUP the President would have dismissed so easily? Especially one where his OPPONENT attended? I don’t care that Romney is being reported to have flailed. The NAACP invited him. He knew he’d be appearing before an unenthusiastic and skeptical crowd [if not outright hostile]. He went anyway.
Hands down electronic-oriented music from the 80’s [especially] and 90’s still sounds as great today as it did more than 20 years ago. Here’s a sample.
There’s a lot of things abuzz in the media lately. Some useful and a lot of noise otherwise, but certain things are worthy of discussion. Did anyone go see Beasts of the Southern Wild yet? Or buy a ticket to support it? Despite its limited release people are raving about it.
There are a few things I thought would be of interest to you faithful readers of AOFB (thanks) and some people have discussed them first of so eloquently I’d rather just send you to their forums and link here.
Rutina Wesley as Pulsar? Me likey!!!!! The Avengers movie did so well but certain characters they featured were more than a little meh to me. Remember we’re about 35% of the entire box office yet we don’t use our clout to make the decision-making process worth for us. Forget racism and be pragmatic. Nobody’s going to voluntarily give up any power. Assuming automatic black loyalty based on race has already been debunked. Support those who support you and drop the rest. They’ll get the hint quickly.
I’m a huge fan of Rutina’s and want to see her in better roles. With her dance background and Julliard pedigree she hasn’t had a project that fully utilizes her talents. I had to just say no to True Blood after they had her raped, kidnapped and running around on a vampire plantation. I hear that her character is now a vampire herself, so I might take a peek. Maybe.
It seems there’s a debate brewing based on whether an actress covering the latest issue of Essence magazine is an accurate representation of black women. Well, if you read this forum you’ve been actively encouraged to purge ALL nonsensical and harmful media junk out of your life. We’ve discussed all of the reasons why the Essence magazine of our mother’s generation is long gone and what’s left is a decidedly ANTI-black woman MESSence.
