Today’s thanks goes to FAXBoy my new writing comrade-in-arms and 2011 success cheerleader, who has written a hilarious and insightful send-up of the precariously employed titled Employment Of The Month. Think of it as a real-life Up In The Air meets Reality Bites.

I suggest everyone identify one key person who has also  identified goals to achieve in 2011 to bounce ideas off and get encouragement (a kick in the pants if needed). Who’s Getting It Right #1: On The Upside With Mary J. Blige & Jennifer Hudson

Please note these are my observations of behavioral patterns from actions that have been revealed to the general public. I think the reading audience is savvy enough to understand that I do not know any celebrity I use as examples for these discussions. Whether it is in praise or criticism modern-day celebrities are akin to the “gods” of folklore on many levels and we can learn by their example.

Last week I discussed the ways some males who have not successfully been able to sustain a career or livelihood have taken the easy way out, using the gender parity advances fought for by feminism to entrap certain woman via children. They don’t limit themselves to celebrities as not all men have access to those women. It could be a college-educated woman or one with a more stable employment history who’d be permanently tied to a lesser-than (if not downright loser/DBR-type) through biology.

In 2011 You’re Free To Be Your Best. Here’s How To Do It.

I’m sure enough of us can recall the scene from the first Matrix film after Neo has been untethered from the pod and is in training  – when Morpheus jumps between buildings and tells Neo he can and will do the same thing and more. You can watch it here for a refresher.

“Free Your Mind.”

The funk band Parliament may have used the term in a song title long before the Matrix was released  – with some humor attached but the sentiment remains the same. Your butt (and life) will follow accordingly to your adopted mindset. Does fear take top billing? Then you may be waiting for a light change when it’s been set to green (for Go) the entire time.

This is also why Field Of Dreams has long been a favorite film of mine, but never more so than as of late.
